Kanawha County Schools is committed to keeping families informed and connected. Whether you’re looking for school news, online attendance excuse, calendars, lunch menus, or real-time bus tracking, KCS has tools to make information easy to find and accessible anytime.
The KCS Website
The Kanawha County Schools website can be found at kcs.kana.k12.wv.us. It’s your one-stop location for district-wide information. On the website, families can quickly access:
School calendars and events
Lunch and breakfast menus
Employment opportunities
Policies and procedures
Important documents
Board of Education information and meeting schedules
Construction and facility updates
Spotlights from around the district
See school bus changes by terminal
Announcements and news
Each school also has its own page on the website, so parents can find school-specific updates, staff directories, and resources. Just click the school dropdown menu on the KCS homepage. The school webpage is one of two places you can find the online attendance excuse form.
The KCS App
While the website is built for comprehensive information, the KCS app is designed for quick, on-the-go access. Available for free by searching Kanawha County Schools in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The app makes it easy to stay up-to-date with the information you use most often.
With the KCS app, you can:
Receive district and school notifications instantly
Fill out and submit attendance excuse form
View daily breakfast and lunch menus
Check school and district calendars
Quickly find links to important resources and documents
The app is especially helpful for parents who want real-time alerts and updates without needing to log into the website.
The EZ A2B School Bus Tracking App
For parents who want to know where their child’s bus is in real time, Kanawha County Schools uses the EZ A2B app. This free app allows you to track your student’s bus location and estimated arrival times. The app also sends an alert if your student's bus is running behind schedule.
Parents can download the EZ A2B app in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store by searching for “EZ Routing – EZ A2B”. Once downloaded, families will receive secure access to their child’s route and can set up notifications to know when the bus is getting close.
